Cleveland, Ohio, June 8, 2006 -- Perfect Smile Corporation announced today that it has begun a clinical study to determine the efficacy of toothpaste containing Perfect Smile's proprietary MicroActive® Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) Complex in the treatment of patients with gingivitis.

The technology being used in the study to determine the presence of gum disease at the onset of the study and at predetermined intervals during the study, will be the “GeneEx Periodontitis Diagnostic” test. This test is a single-use, self-contained lateral flow immunoassay using patient saliva samples. The clinical study is being conducted under the authorization of the Institutional Review Board of ZEEBA Ambulatory Surgical Center in Lyndhurst, Ohio. Dr. Charles A. Babbush, Director of the Dental Implant Center, also located in Lyndhurst, Ohio, will be the principal investigator in charge of the study which is expected to extend over a period of 90 days.

As previously announced, Perfect Smile acquired an exclusive license to use MicroActive® CoQ10 Complex in oral care applications. MicroActive CoQ10 Complex is produced under a patented process, and laboratory studies utilizing human gingival cells demonstrate superior bioavailability as compared to standard forms of CoQ10. Numerous clinical studies have previously demonstrated that topically applied standard CoQ10 can create improvements in patients with gum disease.

Perfect Smile has incorporated MicroActive CoQ10 Complex along with xylitol and vitamin C in all of its oral care products under the trademark “Q-litol™”. Perfect Smile's product line containing Q-litol includes fluoride and fluoride-free toothpastes, alcohol-free mouth rinse, and chewing gums in mint and cinnamint flavors. Perfect Smile expects to add additional products in the future and is preparing to launch its Q-litol products in a national television campaign in the fall of 2006.
